Ga'anda language

Ga'anda (also known as Ganda, Ga'andu, Mokar, Makwar) is an Afro-Asiatic language spoken by about 10,000 people in the Adamawa state of Nigeria. Some speakers live in the Song, Gyuk, Mubi, and Biu (Borno State) LGAs. It has two dialects, Ga'anda and Gabin; Blench (2006) classifies Gabin is a separate language.〔Blench, 2006. (The Afro-Asiatic Languages: Classification and Reference List ) (ms)〕 Its speakers are generally not monolingual in Ga'anda, instead, they use Hausa and Fulfulde as well. They are becoming more interested in education; Ga'anda has a secondary school.〔
